Vision and Mission
Center for Fundamental Physics (CFP) at HKUST is a platform for collaboration in fundamental physics, especially in areas where critical mass (and also a unified external face that displays that critical mass) is essential. Its goals include:
- To be the flagship of fundamental physics research in Greater China.
- To act as a focal point for scientists from various disciplines within HKUST and its partner institutions to meet and collectively solve problems in fundamental physics.
- To lead Hong Kong in participating in global scientific projects.
- To develop a comprehensive research program in particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology.
- To train young scientists who are at the forefront of one of the hottest fields in science and technology.
